Samantha Pysher Post #10 Jurassic Park, 1993, Steven Spielberg
Jurassic Park has a very original plot, a group
of scientist’s cloned dinosaur, and are about to open an amusement park where
people can see the dinosaurs. The creator of the park, John Hammond, invites a
group of people, along with his grandchildren to see the park before anyone
else. After one of the employees tries to steal some dinosaur embryos the
entire security of the park goes into a breakdown and the dinosaurs escape
causing danger for everyone on the island. The story is amazing, first we get
to see how the magic of the park was created and then everything takes a turn
to disaster when the magic is ruined and every ones’ life is at risk. The
special effects are still amazing to this day, even with all of the CGI that is
in films in the day-an-age. Steven Spielberg uses camera angles that can be
categorized as foreshadowing because of the extreme close-ups of the dinosaurs
to show interaction with the characters. The most ingenious aspect of this
movie is the portrayal of dinosaurs as animals rather than ruthless monsters.
There are times throughout the movie that that the humans are portrayed as
antagonists with respect and appreciation of the dinosaurs. This movie is just
amazing in all aspects.
