Post 6: Days of Thunder, 1990, Directed by Tony Scott

I have always enjoyed watching Tom Cruise. Its his on-screen presence that I have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy as long as he keeps making solid and fun films. I was least familiar with the film Days of Thunder, but overall thought that it was a solid entertainment picture with many high-defined graphics and sound effects. Directed by Tony Scott, the film depicts action, drama, and romance. Some of the other stars include Nicole Kidman and Robert Duvall. The main character Cole Trickle enters the high- pressure world of NASCAR racing. He’s a hot driver with a hot temper, and his attitude gets him into trouble not only with other drivers but remembers of his own team as well.
The film became a huge success in home rentals and soon a video game adaption of the film was released. The special effects that the film adopts are top of the line. The film makes you feel apart of the race team, showing real life racing and crashes you come to expect from the sport of NASCAR. Many of the action scenes and special effects entice you with the vivid sound effects and color graphics. It is amazing at how the stunts were done in this movie. A movie like this done in 1990, you would not expect the amount of visual appeal the movie gives to the audience. As the movie was not given high ratings I still believe that the film captivates and exploits the use of special effects and high intensive sound bites.
