The Adams Family (1991) - Sabrina Brandsema
The Addams Family (1991) was based originally on a cartoon. The film is about Gomez dealing with the 25 years that his brother Frester has been gone, ever since they had an argument. It is a comical skit, that is meant to be very creepy at times. I love the way the cartoonist Charles Addams creates the characters to be something different that we have never seen before. Such as Gomez, Mortisha, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Grandmama, Wednesday, Pugsley, & of course Thing. Thing was the walking hand that wasn't connected to any body. I really love thing because in the movie it looks so real, but in reality they used a green-screen to capture that effect. I noticed when watching this movie that the camera angles weren't the best at times, they could have made the film more interesting by using different and more drastic camera angles. I believe that the Addams Family was shot on a low budget and they didn't have the same equipment that would have made it more of a success as if they re-did it today. I did some research and they re-made it again in 1993, with way more money spent on the film.
